Eight DC and six AC charging points at Singapore’s first eco-smart town enable quick and convenient charging
Singapore, 16 May 2026 - SP Mobility, part of SP Group (SP), is bringing more high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging closer to where Singaporeans live, with the launch of Singapore’s first EV fast charging hub at a Housing Development Board (HDB) carpark in Tengah.
The EV fast charging hub comprises eight direct current (DC) fast charging points of up to 100 kilowatts (kW) and six alternating current (AC) charging points at 7.4 kW each. It is conveniently located at the HDB carpark serving residential Blocks 123 and 129, beside Plantation Plaza – Tengah town’s first neighbourhood mall. This allows drivers to do quick charge-ups while running errands, having a meal, or longer duration charging when parking overnight.
The launch event was attended by Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Transport, and Dr Choo Pei Ling, Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC.
SP Mobility operates the largest high-speed public EV charging network in Singapore. Besides Tengah, SP Mobility will be deploying fast charging hubs across HDB estates at Bedok North Avenue 3, Teck Whye Lane, Pipit Road (Macpherson), Jurong East Street 31, Tampines Street 34 and Woodlands Street 13, and at the Bukit Canberra and Jurong West Sports Centres. These deployments will be rolled out progressively from early 2027.
Mr Dean Cher, Managing Director, SP Mobility, said, “As EV adoption accelerates, charging infrastructure must be designed around daily living. By launching Singapore’s first EV fast‑charging hub within an HDB estate, we are bringing high‑power charging directly into the heart of everyday life, making EV ownership more convenient, seamless and accessible for drivers in the community.”
Ms Stephanie Tan, CEO of EV-Electric (EVe) said, “Tengah residents will be among the first to experience having a fast-charging hub in their neighbourhood. The hub brings together fast and slow chargers to meet diverse charging needs across the community. As the first HDB charging hub, it expands the network by giving drivers greater convenience, flexibility, and faster charging.”
To enhance the charging experience, eligible customers with SP Mobility accounts can earn ChargeUP rewards points with every charging session and redeem them on the SP app to offset future charging bills.
This deployment strengthens SP’s role in supporting Tengah’s vision as Singapore’s first smart and sustainable town. As of December 2025, more than 14,000 flats have been completed, with over 12,000 home owners having collected their keys. With more residents moving in, accessible charging infrastructure will be increasingly important.
SP deployed Tengah’s first public EV chargers in February 2025 and will continue to expand charging across multiple Tengah precincts, including plans to install additional DC charging points in new Tengah carparks where power is available in tandem with the town’s development.
