Ideabox Turns Concepts to Application

Imagine a hybrid solar cone that uses solar concentrating lenses to maximise energy absorption and promises to produce more than five times the energy of a conventional solar cell.

This is one of the first prototypes developed by ideaBox, an idea translation lab by SP Group and Singapore Polytechnic that brings innovative ideas to applications in everyday life.

Launched on 3 April 2018, this platform aims to turn promising ideas by tertiary students and SP Group employees into sustainable energy applications for everyday life.

SP Group drives research and innovation that benefit consumers, helping them to save energy and cost. This collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic exposes their students to real-world challenges, test new ideas and build solutions to implement the ideas.”
